Sunday Lunch at Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino

Sunday Lunch at Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino

Today was my first experience dining at the Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino. My family and I decided to go for lunch and we ended up having a jolly time. As we entered, we were offered either a glass of wine, a strawberry champagne cocktail or orange juice for the youngsters. I tried the cocktail and I quite liked it.

The staff at Avani were tremendously friendly and incredibly helpful. Avani is a buffet style restaurant but you will of course have a waiter. Our waiter had the loveliest smile and was such a happy soul.

The food was good too. I ate a lot of the seafood so most of it was cooked for me on the spot. They also had a very delicious lamb curry which I ate with rice. What I also enjoyed about Avani, was the simple décor and atmosphere. I imagine for tourists it must be nice to look at the paintings on the walls of the Namibian landscape and wildlife; I enjoyed them just as much. There was a cute little desert elephant placed in the centre of the table as well. When I wasn’t admiring the décor, I quite enjoyed the live performance by a wonderfully talented young singer dressed in an Indian Saree.

If you ever find yourself visiting Namibia or staying at the Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino in town, I encourage you to consider having lunch or dinner there.
