Fuwa Fuwa Restaurant
My friend group from film school and I have been planning to go out together for the longest time to eat some good food. I don’t remember who in our group recommended it, but someone said we should go this place called Fuwa Fuwa. Immediately afterwards, a link was sent to our group chat. As soon I opened the link and looked at the website, I was fully on board. The website it beautiful and it certainly made me drool all over my keyboard.
Fuwa Fuwa is a Japanese Soufflé Pancake Shop from Tokyo. There are two locations open in Toronto; One in Midtown and one in the Annex. Fuwa Fuwa translates to ‘Fluffy Fluffy” which is exactly what the handcrafted Japanese Soufflé Pancakes make you feel like. In Japan, the pancakes are traditionally served after weddings and symbolize good fortune. Fuwa Fuwa, however, believes that every day is a celebration and wishes to share a bit of Japanese culture with all who visit the store in Toronto.
The pancakes themselves are an in-between of a soufflé and a traditional pancake. This is Fuwa Fuwa’s modern take on the pancakes.
I ordered a tea which I enjoyed while they were preparing my food. The Pancakes were delicious. They were so light and fluffy. The texture was so new to my tongue, but I loved it. The pancakes sort of melt in your mouth. You have to try them for yourself. I also enjoyed the scoop of ice cream with my pancake.

Around the table, everyone enjoyed their pancakes. One of my friend’s, he ordered the pancake that had matcha and red bean. He said it was delicious. I think I’ll try that one next time.
If you’re looking for a yummy dessert or a new café to try, give Fuwa Fuwa a go.
